COAERS is pleased to welcome Jaime Aguirre as Director of Private Equity for the retirement system’s investment program. Jaime brings more than two decades of experience across private equity, venture capital, investment banking, and institutional asset management, with a distinguished track record advising and managing investments on behalf of pension funds, endowments, and other investors.

Prior to joining COAERS, Jaime served as Chief Investment Officer of Atlas Capital Global Capglo, where he provided independent investment research, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring services, while supporting the development of private equity strategy and investment processes for Afore Banamex. Previously, he served as Investment Director for Private Equity and Venture Capital at Rice Management Company, overseeing private market investments for Rice University’s $6 billion endowment. Earlier, he was a Principal at Austin Ventures.

Jaime’s career also includes leadership roles at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, where he advised clients on strategic transactions and capital markets activities across the technology, media, telecommunications, energy, and Latin American markets. His broad experience across the investment landscape provides valuable perspective as COAERS continues to strengthen its private markets program and long-term investment strategy.

Jaime earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and holds both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout his career, he has served on the boards of numerous organizations in education, healthcare, and innovation.
