The City of Austin Employees’ Retirement System (COAERS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ricardo Carlos as its first-ever Human Resources Officer. Ricardo joins COAERS with a distinguished career spanning nonprofit organizations and multinational corporations across Mexico, Canada, and the United States. He brings extensive global experience and a strong commitment to cultivating inclusive, high-performing workplaces.

Throughout his career, Ricardo has held a variety of leadership and human resources roles. Most recently, he served at Stantec as HR Business Partner, HR Team Lead, HR Regional Manager, and Global HR Director. His work has consistently focused on building environments where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and achieve shared success.

Fluent in three languages and certified as an intercultural consultant, Ricardo applies his expertise as a global HR leader to enhance organizational performance. His optimistic, adaptable, and results-oriented approach reflects the qualities that align closely with COAERS’ mission, vision, and values.
