On Wednesday, July 23, join the City of Austin Employees Retirement System for its annual meeting for members!
The conference-style event will bring valuable resources and educational sessions to current City employees and retired members to learn about important retirement planning and pension system updates!
The 2025 Member Summit will be held in-person at the new COAERS HQ building.

Who Should Attend
The Member Summit is geared for active City employees and retired members. The event will provide you with the knowledge to understand your retirement readiness, and develop a plan, assess your money habits, and review important resources available to you post-retirement.
Sessions
The summit will consist of a series of educational sessions presented by experts from COAERS. The sessions are designed to provide insights into various aspects of financial, retirement planning, and post-retirement life.
The Member Summit event will include the following sessions:
- 12:15 PM SESSION 1 -- Navigating Post-Retirement Employment
Explore the implications of returning to work after retirement, including how it affects pension benefits and healthcare coverage.
- 12:45 PM SESSION 2 -- Financial Planning Across Career Stages
Tailored retirement planning advice for early, mid, and late-career employees to enhance retirement readiness.
- 1:30 PM SESSION 3 -- How to Recession-Proof Your Budget
Budgeting, how to spend less, earn more, and protect assets + tips from the investment team
- 2:00 PM SESSION 4 -- Maximizing Your Retiree Resources
Resources for retirees, such as health insurance options, financial planning tools, and community programs.
- 2:30 PM SESSION 5 -- State of the Fund
A closer look at your retirement system
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the presenters. Each session will be followed by a brief Q&A with the presenter to allow for audience questions if time allows.
